Generally, there are plenty of rural attractions in the region. Bulgaria, in particular, is renowned for natural yoghurt, goat and sheep’s milk cheese, wine and rose attar. Romania, for example, is Europe’s largest corn and sunflower producer. It is in the top five of EU wheat and soybeans producers. N. Macedonia is famous for its tobacco, lamb meat, fresh and processed vegetables and fruits.

The George Enescu Festival in Romania is one of the biggest classical music festivals. You may be lucky to be in Romania during the festival’s period (end of August- September).
