Weather and Climate

The climate of Bulgaria is temperate continental with an average temperature over the year of about 12 C. Due to mountaneous relief, the influences of the neighbouring seas and the air currents, mainly with north-west directions, Bulgaria can be devided in 5 climatic regions. North Bulgaria with a temperate continental climate, Central Bulgaria and Upper Thrace have an intermediate climate; the southern parts of the country have an intermediate Mediterranean climate, Coastal Areas have warmer climate, especially in the south, and grounds above 1000 m have a mountain climate. AVERAGE TEMPERATURES SPRING 5 to 15 C SUMMER 15 to 30 C AUTUMN 8 to 20 C WINTER - 4 to + 4 C.
