BOROVETS MOUNTAIN RESORT
Situated at 1350 m above sea level on the northern slopes of Rila Mountain among age-old pine woods, BOROVETS is the oldest and largest mountain resort and international ski centre. BOROVETS is easily accessible, being at a distance of 80 km from Sofia and 126 km from Plovdiv. The town of Samokov is only 10 km down the road from the resort.
BOROVETS is the best starting point for hikers in the Eastern section of the mountain, including the highest peak in the Balkans - Moussala (2925 m above sea level) and several other peaks exceeding 2500 m. Summer in BOROVETS offers a big variety of hiking tours - half- or full-day tours, tailored to suit every individual taste of either a beginner or an expert.
RILA HOTEL ****
Designed by the famous French company Des Arcs beautifully situated just a few minutes walk from the slopes and the Gondola lift.
Two 10-storey hotel bodies with 189 double rooms and 320 studios (four beds in each room: bedroom and two childrens'bulk beds). Each room and studio with shower, bath-tub, telephone, radio and sat TV, balcony.
There are 3 restaurants, lobby bar, cocktail bar, night club, disco club;Sports hall, sauna, fitness centre, indoor swimming pool; medical centre; shopping centre.
